We'll post this again when we confirm a new date. A workshop to learn about pollinators and planning pollinator gardens
The parasitic Varroa mite is now in Australia. It infects beehives and kills feral honeybees. At present European Honeybees pollinate most of our food crops and garden plants. Growing local native plants will help to sustain populations of the native bees, insects and other creatures that keep our ecosystem going. This, in turn, will benefit our cultivated plants.
In this workshop David Sparks, horticulturalist and ecologist, will introduce pollinators, resources for pollinators, and simple design features of a good pollinator garden. After the workshop session and weather permitting. we’ll go for a short walk outdoors to look at what might grow in different spots.
Places are limited and booking is essential.
