Today we'll be planting and sowing the perimeter of 'Lewis Swamp' to establish some trees and create attractive entrance points to the creekways.

We’ve got a really busy time coming up this spring, with lots of plants to get in the ground at a number of sites.

On Sunday the 16th of September, we’re starting earlier than normal because we have a lot of plants to put in over quite a large area covering both sides of the creek.

Our goals are to make the entrances to trail and the creek reserve as attractive as we can using our lovely indigenous species and to create some native plant cover in the treeless parts.

We hope you can come along and help us transform these places into beautiful habitat areas.

Meet in the car-park at the western end of Lewis Drive, Castlemaine for a 9:00 AM start. We'll finish at mid-day with a late morning tea.

Please bring: If you can, a mattock, pick or hammer/mallet and as always, bring gloves (leather advised—we’ll be erecting wire netting tree guards), hats, sturdy clothing & footwear, protection suitable for the weather, and your own water.

We’ll supply the rest - hope to see you there!
