Planting along Forest Creek behind Best Motors
Sunday 25 August will be a big planting morning. It will most likely include hole preparation prior to planting and the planting will be the remaining poas, sedges and lomandra (there are 420 all up for this site), and about 150 understorey plants.
We will start each day at 10.00 am (our winter starting time) and morning tea will be available. If you can bring something for morning tea, that would be helpful.We will be meeting behind Best Motors, where there is plenty of parking on the south side of the highway. We recommend that you NOT park on the other side, as crossing the road can be hazardous.This is a slightly difficult site with some steep sections, and old blackberry runners. Also, we will be planting among existing trees and spread over a fair length of the creek.Please bring mattocks, and other planting, weeding and digging tools if you have them (although we usually have plenty of tools on the day). Please wear stout footwear and dress for the weather (of course). Bring good gardening gloves to guard against brambles.
