This event is part of
Castlemaine Landcare Group's Vanessa Case and other local artists will be running a Butterfly Celebration afternoon in the Botanic Gardens.
Children from two local schools will present the creative work they have been doing with Vanessa and Andy Rigby to show how a local ant (Notoncus capitatus) and the Sweet Bursaria plant offer help to the threatened Eltham Copper Butterfly - and what the butterfly does in return.
Other local groups focused on butterflies will also be there - music, dancing, tours of the butterfly breeding area and a parade-with-wings will be part of the entertainment and there will be a session for pre-schoolers to create their own artistry. Bring a picnic and join with the performers in celebrating nature's beauty.
