2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants

The Victorian Government is funding up to $410,000 in total for the 2019 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants.

The Victorian Department of Environment, Land Water & Planning (DELWP) and Landcare Australia are partnering for a second year to deliver the 2019 round of the Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants. 

Applications for the 2019-20 Victorian Landcare Grants are now closed. Applications will be assessed in the coming months and  an announcement of the successful recipients made following assessment.

The grants offer funding for projects that seek to involve and educate young Victorians in valuing and actively caring for Victoria’s biodiversity and our natural environment.

The type of projects supported by this program include:

  • On-ground projects that restore, protect, enhance, or develop habitat for native flora and fauna, and/or address threats to biodiversity e.g. weed invasion, habitat loss etc.,and/or
  • Projects that increase opportunities for children to connect with their natural environment e.g. a school excursion to Healesville Sanctuary; and/or
  • Projects that educate and raise awareness, among young people, of the benefits and importance of biodiversity and a healthy environment, and/or how they can contribute to environmental improvement.

Who was eligible to apply?

Victorian schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, Scouts, Guides and youth groups were able to apply for grants of up to $5,000 in total.
