Worksafe Victoria Publications

Worksafe Victoria has developed a number of publications to assist community services organisations working with volunteers to understand Health and Safety rights and responsibilities.

Employers are responsible for the health and safety of their employees and volunteers working under their control. When working with volunteers it is essential that employers:

  • ensure that volunteers have appropriate skills, training and supervision to perform the work safely, and
  • when necessary, provide them with suitable personal protective equipment.

Creating a Safe Working Environment

'Creating a Safe Working Environment' for the Victorian Landcare Program is made up of two toolkits for use by Landcare groups, networks, employers, employees, members and volunteers.

These toolkits include risk prevention and OH&S resources, to assist Landcare to ensure that a strong culture of safety underpins community-based natural resource management activities and events across Victoria.

These documents were developed as a collaborative project between the Victorian Landcare Team (VLT) and the Victorian Landcare Network (VLN).
