Learn about the flowers that pollinators like and how to grow them in small spaces. Booking is essential for this workshop.

The parasitic Varroa mite is now in Australia and infecting beehives and the feral honeybees that currently pollinate most of our food crops and garden plants. Growing local native plants helps native insects and the other creatures that keep our ecosystem going. This, in turn, benefits our cultivated plants.

Presented by David Sparks, horticulturalist and ecologist this workshop will include a short introduction on pollinators. We'll look at the flowers that pollinators like and resources to attract them in small spaces.

There will also be information on pot plant care and native plants suitable for pots.

This workshop will have a hands-on focus and includes a chance to pot up plants. Please bring along a small to medium pot that you’d like to use. If you put some stones or scoria in the bottom will help with drainage. We will supply potting mix suitable for native plants and some plants for you to pot.

Please book on line at Try Booking using the RSVP link in this post.
