Woodside Landcare Group takes care of Landcare activites around the areas of Woodside along the South Gippsland Highway. Their boundaries go south to McLoughlins Beach, east to Woodside Beach and north to Giffard-Darriman. They are a very active and social group whose members are heavily involved in the control of pest plants and animals, salinity remediation and revegetation work on their land.
Woodside Landcare Group was one of the first Landcare Groups established and were instrumental in the formation of the YYLN. Members have been actively involved in the Mullungdung to Coast Project (protecting remnant vegetation, connectivity corridors and cross property biodiversity planning) and the Gippsland Plains Drought Tolerant Pasture Group (trialling perennially pastures). Members are also undertaking a Landcare-funded project aimed at fencing remnant vegetation and planting new trees at Jack Smith Lake. They are an extremely active and social group.
