Multiday kayaking trip to help the CMA map willows above Licola

We are excited to announce our SECOND event that we have been tirelessly planning! We will be kayaking throughout the Macalister Gorge Natural Features and Scenic Reserve near Glenfollch mapping willow trees for the West Gippsland CMA. Willows are a massive weed in the headwaters of our catchment. They affect water quality, their roots clog smaller waterways, they drop vast amounts of leaf matter as they're deciduous and they use a lot of water. They easily break off and seed all the way downstream, so we need to get the top of the rivers cleaned up! The following is a rough run though of the event: Saturday the 25th November:

7:45am - meet at Heyfield Wetlands

8am or so - Drive up to Basin Flat Arrive around

8:30am-8:45am Matt Bowler's Presentation/Intent of how to do the project 9am Kayak instructions

9:45am Start Kayaking

4.30pm- approx finish (this is allowing both extra time and lunch)

6pm- Group dinner at 6pm (most likely something we can make as a group)

Sunday the 26th November: Bush walking opportunity??

We stress that there are ONLY 25 spots available so it is first in, best dressed!!
