Arawata Landcare Group covers approximately 26500 hectares of western South Gippsland encompassing Trida and Strzelecki in the north, Leongatha in the south, and Arawata, Kardella and Wild Dog Valley in the centre.
The group was formed in 1997 and our current 50+ member families include farmers, retirees, tree changers and rural business owners, all with a shared focus on protecting, regenerating and appropriately revegetating our farming landscape. Our recent projects include building biolinks across our region and planting trees to protect soils from erosion, enhance water quality and to provide more habitat for our Strzelecki koalas.
Quarterly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each season at the Arawata Hall, Fairbanks Road, Arawata. Everyone is welcome.
