Each year, Coast Action/Coastcare brings you Summer by the Sea; a summer program packed with fun and educational coastal activities.
Coast Action/Coastcare’s annual coastal activity program, Summer by the Sea, will be back again in January 2017. Each year, the program introduces Victorians to their marine and coastal backyard by hosting a range of fun and educational coastal activities
The program is designed to bring Victorians a little closer to their coast. From snorkelling to birdwatching, or rockpool rambling to a volunteering experience, there is something for everyone. All activities are led by qualified and experienced local guides, and have been developed with your safety in mind. Most activities are free, and are suitable for the whole family. Please be sure to note any special requirements, and as always, don’t forget to be SunSmart. There’s nothing better than Summer by the Sea. For more information visit the official Site here.
Over 10,000 Victorians enjoyed last year's program. Participants had the chance to meet rockpool occupants, paddle a canoe through a mangrove estuary, discover beach fossils, try snorkelling for the first time or meet a penguin-guarding Maremma dog. The 2010 program promises to be as exciting as ever. To see what activities are happening in your area, please visit the Summer by the Sea site to access the program.
In conjunction with this, Coastcare is running a campaign to help people to volunteer for Coastcare activities, and register to take the Coastcare pledge or to be notified of activities and news.
