The Friends of Skeleton Creek & Altona Bay Wetlands Inc. is a not-for-profit incorporated conservation group, founded in 1991, working to preserve and improve Skeleton Creek and its catchment. We are managed by a committee who meets once a month (except in January). The Friends of Skeleton Creek group is mostly funded through grants from Melbourne Water. Once a month we run working bees (sometimes twice a month) along the creek in conjunction with conservation rangers from either Hobsons Bay City Council or Wyndham City Council.
Our Aims:
- Conserving, protecting and enhancing the creek and its catchment
- Educating the community and schools groups about the creek and the need to conserve it
- Enhancing the connection to our community with the environment
