OCLG has advised and helped restore habitat on this private property.
Over the last few years OCLG has helped advise the owners of this private property on the process of restoring a natural environment, particularly along Rich Creek which runs down its boundary. The restoration, which is still a work in progress, has focused on removing invasive weeds (especially Holly, Ivy, Blackberries and Tutsan) and whilst this is ongoing, the project is moving into the revegeatation phase.
The work has been carried out in partnership between the owners, Melbourne Water's Stream Frontage Management Programme and OCLG. OCLG has recently been involved in a working bee to really kick off the revegation phase.
The owners are delighted with the progress made so far, and are very happy to be able to report their first sighting of a Lyrebird on the property in May 2009, just days after the working bee.
