The Green Army Round 2 began in mid April working with Merricks Coolart Catchment Landcare Group on the Merricks Red Hill trail. According to President, Alan Costello “They have done a fantastic job removing lots of Pittosporum, Blackberries and other noxious weeds. They are a great group, looking forward to having them back in July.”
The group has since been working with Red Hill South Landcare Group on the Baynes Reserve and briefly at the Red Hill Community Park.
Their team leader, Tom Andrews, works well with the participants, who are enthusiastic and hard working. Many of the participants are seeking full time employment, so please contact Jacqui Salter if you hear of any opportunities: Jacqueline.salter@mornpen.vic.gov.au
