Due to the endangered conservation status of Emerald Starbush and with exceptionally low numbers of plants in the wild, it is important that the entire community contributes to preserving this fragile species. It is restricted to the Emerald and Monbulk area of the Southern Dandenong Ranges, Victoria.

Johns Hill Landcare aims to build on previous work by establishing Emerald Star Bush reserves and maintaining awareness in the community.
