The third in the program of Christmas Hills Landcare activities for 2007 is:
“Rabbits and Foxes – control options and support”
A talk and practical demonstration
at Peter and Jane’s place

from 2pm - 5pm on Sunday, 17th June, 2007
Speakers are:
Greg Mitchell
Catchment Management Officer, Department of Primary Industries
and
Anthony Mann
Community Rabbit Program Coordinator, Shire of Nillumbik
We will learn more about:
- The biology and impacts of rabbits and foxes
- The control options available to us, including practical demonstrations of two techniques – Pindone oat bait laying and warren fumigation
- The scale of control for optimal results
- Avoiding off-target impacts (ie wildlife and stock)
- Support programs on offer
- Also a little about the biology, impacts and control options for deer
Given that part of the day will be held outside, please come dressed appropriate to the prevailing weather

2:00pm – 2:45pm Talk by Greg Mitchell – controlling rabbits and foxes
2:45pm – 3:45pm Practical Demonstrations – Pindone oat bait laying and warren fumigation
3:45pm – 4:00pm Talk by Anthony Mann – support provided by Nillumbik Shire
4:00pm – 5:00pm Afternoon tea – socialising with neighbours
