Andersons Creek has a rich floral diversity along its banks. Unfortunately some of the indigenous flora is struggling to survive the onslaught of weeds. In particular vinca is very aggressive. The landcare group has a 5 year plan to remove the vinca and replace it with indigenous plants.
The vinca is exceptionally hardy and so we have to use a variety of methods to remove it including brush-cutting and hand weeding.
We see that this project will not only improve the vegetation but also have a positive affect on the wildlife.
