Indian Mynas are a feral bird specie in Australia. They are very aggressive, competing for breeding sites with rosellas, kookaburras, galahs and small native birds, pushing young and eggs out of nesting cavities or simply nesting on top of them.
They are a significant threat to native species and their numbers will climb alarmingly unless action is taken.
Grant funding from the City of Greater Bendigo launched this project which has now become self-sustaining, allowing passionate members of our group to coordinate this Indian Myna control project offering traps to the community.
Our two-chamber wire traps are based on a proven design for Indian Mynas and made by inmates at the Fulham Correctional Centre in Sale. They are lightweight and measure approximately 90cm long x 60cm wide x 70cm high at the tallest point.
If you are interested in a trap for $40 and/or information on how to manage Indian Myna populations at your place, get in touch with us by emailing landcareversusmynas@gmail.com , calling Nicole on 0413974074 or you can place your order directly by filling out the form here: https://forms.gle/M5XsCdSnAiZ3zUuZA
Traps can be picked up in Strathdale, Bendigo.
