The Axedale River Reserve spanning 2km of the Campaspe River within the township of Axedale is now an attractive and popular drawcard for tourists via road or along the O'Keefe Rail Trail.

Following the removal of willows by the North Central CMA in 2013, our group has been supported by City of Greater Bendigo to host five National Tree Day events (2016-21) throughout the reserve.

These events have led to an enhanced native understorey to support native wildlife and opportunities for local community members to get involved in restoring the Campaspe River environs, including Axedale Primary School students.
