Lewis Drive Precinct restoration project (Maldon railway bridge to walking/cycle bridge downstream.) Sep '15 to Oct '16.This area is very degraded. It is the only part of our focus area that retains significant amounts of Regionally Prohibited weeds - Blackberry and Gorse - and is a habitat gap.The project will work with neighbours to eliminate regionally prohibited & other weeds; revegetate the area to provide diverse habitat & close the habitat gap; and aims to attract more in community to value, join in and use the area.
Resurrection of Dianella amoena along Campbells Creek. Dec'15-Nov'16.The Nationally endangered Dianella amoena (Matted Flax-lily) still exists in one small population along the creek corridor. There has been no regeneration for at least 29 years. The project will protect and encourage regeneration of the existing population, establish additional plants, and set up another populated site. The seed produced in future will support further re-establishment work.
