Join members of Castlemaine Landcare for two hours to learn about direct sowing and then sow some wildflowers at the edge of the Grassland Reserve.
Meet in Montgomery Street at the start of the track down to the Forest Creek Trail at 9:30 AM.
We’ll discuss the principles of direct sowing with Ian Higgins, Friends of Campbells Creek Landcare Group member (previously direct seeding researcher). Then we'll prepare sites and seed for sowing and sow the seed of several wildflower species. See the list below.
Some seed will be available for participants to try at home.
There'll be morning tea provided at around 11:30 AM.
Wear sturdy clothing suitable for the weather on the day, hat and gloves.
Bring your own water and if you can, a metal toothed rake or similar implement.
We'll supply the rest.
Hope to see you there.
