Planting at Zeal Bridge
We will be meeting at Zeal bridge (where Colles Road meets Murphy/Farran Streets). The planting areas are each side of the creek, downstream of the bridge.
Some (but not all) holes have been dug. So please bring planting and digging tools if you have them (although we usually have plenty of tools on the day. Please wear stout footwear and dress for the weather (of course). Bring gardening gloves.
The landcarers at the 'Bibrons Toadlet site' on 29 July collected some gorse (without flowers and seeds) to use as 'tangles' to keep roos away from some of the grasses we plant on Sunday. Thanks, gorse workers! Again it was a great turnout.
We will work until about 1.00 pm and morning tea will be available. Bring a thermos if you have one, as one of ours has broken.
There will also be a need for some help the day before (Saturday at 2 pm) to prepare for the planting.
Looking ahead, on 26 August there will be a preparation day on Forest Creek behind Best Motors, followed by a planting day at the same place on 2 September.
