Wangaratta Urban Landcare Group is running a nature photo competition to:

* encourage local people to explore and engage with the natural
environment of Wangaratta and the surrounding district

* enhance appreciation of the natural amenity in the Wangaratta area

* portray aspects of the local natural world in photographs

* improve understanding of local ecology, remnant or restored areas, wildlife and plant communities

* promote an active interest in the preservation, restoration and protection of local natural places, waterways, wetlands and wildlife
