This workshop will cover a range of topics:
9.30am John Sykes will talk about the resent soil testing program assessing the two soil tests undertaken and reporting on the change. John will also give a seasonal update for the 2013 sowing season and a rap up of the 2012 season.
11.45am Jeff Hirth will give a report performance of grain crops in the presence and absence of grazing. The group has commissioned the work as a result of the high number of mixed farms in the region.
12.15 Lunch supplied by North East Catchment Management Authority
1.00pm Andrew Whitlock from Precision Ag will deliver the findings of his report into the best available, cost effective precision ag system for farmers in the Boorhaman, Rutherglen and Browns Plains region. The project has received a great deal of interest from farmers in the region as a result of the initial fact finding meeting conducted.
