The Mallee Landcare group formed in late 1990 and became incorporated on May 30th 1991. Initial membership was 165 covering an area of 1,085,000 ha with the purpose of supporting sustainable agricultural and environmental best practice systems for the Mallee. It also encourages research and development by community groups and individuals, including schools, local Council and business, to address local priority natural resource management issues.
