This project is live

This project is collating information on the distribution and abundance of all vertebrate species (mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians) and select invertebrates (butterflies) on the Strathbogie Tableland.

In 1993 the Seven Creeks Catchment Group (forerunner to this group) published the booklet 'Flora and Fauna of the Seven Creeks Catchment'. The fauna records (mammals and birds) in the booklet are those of the late David Noonan and Sam Noonan and were generally made between 1980 and 1990. Since that time the Tableland has steadily attracted more visitors and residents and since about 2000 significantly reduced annual rainfall has caused many changes to the region's biodiversity.
This project is collecting and collating information on the distribution and abundance of all vertebrate species (mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians) and select invertebrates (butterflies) on the Strathbogie Tableland. For this task we are relying on the interest of community members, as well as published and publicly available information.
In the future we hope to expand the project to include the flora of the Tableland (all that's needed is a few people with interest and some time).
