Chilean needle grass (Nassella neesiana) is a major threat to biodiversity and can have a devastating impact on agriculture injuring livestock and contaminating crops and hay. Chilean needle grass is a ‘Restricted’ noxious weed in Victoria which means the plant, or any product contaminated with the seed, cannot be traded or transported. Native to South America, Chilean needle grass is a vigorous competitor in agricultural, natural and urban environments.
Information session will cover identification and management and will be held:
10th November - Milawa Recreation Reserve, 3 – 5 pm (hosted by Wangaratta City Council)
11th November - Molyullah Hall, 8am BBQ Breakfast
11th November - Longwood Community Centre, 6.30pm
12th November - Dookie College, 8am
12th November - Goomalibee CFA Shed, 6pm, BBQ Dinner
