Community Action grant – funding of $9 500 for Improving Biodiversity Outcomes in the
Delatite Catchment.
The grant provides funding of $9 500. This will enable us to increase the extent of native
habitat in two ways: first the productivity of the propagation project will be
improved with better nursery facilities; and second the participation of members
in revegetation projects on their properties will be encouraged through the
provision of technical advice and resources.
Broadly,
funds will be spent like this: firstly, on technical advice and materials to
upgrade the native plant nursery and on equipment to be used in planting on
members’ properties; and secondly on workshops led by local experts to increase
the skills of members in seed collection and propagation. I think that members
will find these workshops the most exciting aspect of the new grant. We’ll consult
with you and let you know what’s happening as soon as arrangements are put in
place.
