Over the past two years the group have been successfully purging the spurge from the sand dune on the main beach.
An integrated approach has been required to this project and has included the following key steps.

The protection of existing endemic vegetation - the group started by hand weeding and freeing the endemic grasses and small shrubs this included Ficinia nodosa, Spinifex sericeus, Olearia axillaris and Poa poiformis.

Working with local weed contractors to spray out section of the Sea spurge that were not touch the endemic vegetation.

Working with Cliff group volunteers to implement monitoring and follow up hand weeding in sections of re emerging sea spurge.
