Landcare Australia have launched the new look Junior Landcare website!
The website now has a unique Learning Centre, with activities developed by education professionals to help children be aware, empowered and active in caring for their local environment.
It features 30-minute learning activities for teachers and educators, parents and carers, youth groups and Landcare community groups.
These learning activities focus on 4 key areas:
- Food production.
- Indigenous perspectives.
- Waste management.
- Biodiversity.
DELWP will be working with Landcare Australia to produce a few activity resources for the Learning Centre.
Costa Georgiadis from ABCTV's Gardening Australia has come aboard as the Ambassador for Junior Landcare and will be helping LAL to launch a campaign called What's in your backyard?
A Landcare Youth Summit is being held in Canberra on March 23 at the Parliament House.
