The Gazette Land Action Group is very passionate about its community and the environment. The group's action plan states it's desire to create a biolink between the two main landscapes within the region - Mt Napier and Mt Rouse. The Gazette Land Action Group area sits south east of Hamilton between Mount Napier and Mount Rouse and consists of 24 members who have been actively involved in various landcare activities focusing on creating a biolink between Mt Napier and Mt Rouse to provide a corridor for fauna in the area.
The group's goals include;

Increase the awareness of the need for native re-vegetation through the area to provide corridors for the native wildlife.
The continuation of the groups works to strengthen our membership which will led to an increase of on-ground works.
An invitation to school groups to be involved in tree planting if possible
Increase community awareness of the benefits of re-vegetation to assist with pasture and stock protection.

Major achievements include;

Austin Uebergang Memorial Reserve Park
Field days for community education in the area to further develop the community's knowledge and awareness of indigenous species.
Continual on-ground works focussed on further enhancing the Mt.Napier and Mt. Rouse wildlife corridor
