National Tree Day was held on 22nd September 2013 at Park Hill. A tributary to the Wannon River was planted.
22nd September 2013 Kate and Hamish Bailey hosted National Tree Day for the 2nd year running at their property Park Hill.
The weather was kind to us and the group planted 550 trees on a tributary of the Wannon River. These included Red Gum, Grey Box, Swamp Gum, Angophora costata, Manna Gum, and Red Box.
The steep hills have attributed to our fitness levels. Participants were our Landcare Group Members, staff of the Western District Health Service, and students from Hamilton and Alexander College. A barbeque followed the tree planting that assisted the groups networking. 14 assisted in tree planting, a further 4 assisted in catering and other members of the community joined the group for the barbeque.
The HCRLLG would like to thank Hamish and Kate Bailey for their contribution to Landcare and for hosting the great day our group had. The HCRLG would also like to thank all participants for their fantastic effort.
The Day was funded by the GHCMA.
