Beyond Bolac Catchment Action Group, with support from Wettenhall Environmental Trust, is introducing Conservation Corners; an innovative way to re-establish native biodiversity within the agricultural landscape. Conservation Corners focus on smaller pockets of land tucked away in tight corners, rocky outcrops, or boggy margins of paddocks. Most farms have one, if not several, of these areas within their paddocks. These unproductive or difficult to manage areas can be set aside and planted with native vegetation. Creative planning of Conservation Corners in the agricultural landscape can benefit land-manager by simplifying headlands, streamlining auto-steer lines, and reducing input costs.
