Watershed 2000 covering the area from Caramut north to Chatsworth, then east to Woorndoo and south to Ballengeich - covering the middle Hopkins river region (including Mustons Ck and Salt Creek lower) has made funds available for the final time.
The group has expended its remaining funds on a number of local area projects - one of which is on public land at Ellerslie. With the support of Vicroads, the Ellerslie Resident Group have taken on a section of land on the north bank of the Hopkins River in the town of Elllerslie- to revegetate the bank and improve its environmental health.
The site can be viewed from above - just walk onto the open section of the historic bridge and look down into the land between it and the current road bridge.
