This event is part of
Working Bee - Burn Off & Fire Wood Collection - Free Coffee and Cake
An enthusiastic group of locals have been busy at work, helping to redevelop the Poet’s Walk into a place where the community and visitors can walk, run, picnic and access fishing and swimming spots.
We invite you to join us in a Working Bee. We will be burning off old wood and weeds and cutting and removing useful fire wood, to take home.
Come along, help out and tell us what parts of the Poet’s Walk are important to you. Free cakes and coffee will be delivered to our workers.
Meet: At the Swifts Creek Police Station
Time: From 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Date: Sunday, July 1st
Bring: Gloves, hat, secateurs and water bottle. If you want to take home fire wood, please bring your chain saw with appropriate safety equipment and trailer.
The event is weather dependant. If it’s too wet, we will postpone to another day. Children are welcome and bring your pet on a lead if you want. The ‘Poet’s Walk Working Group’ is made up of a handful of people representing Landcare, Swifts Creek Angling Club, Fitness Group, Great Alpine Gallery, ODH, DELWP and East Gippsland Shire Council.
