This project is live

Revegetation of degraded creek front on Salt Creek, and Butchers Creek, Nicholson is being carried out by a number of organisations, one being Nicholson River Landcare Group. A member of the group is the owner of a grazing property where shelter belts and windbreaks are being established by Citola and Landcare. As the shelter belts will join with the creek frontage, a continuous ribbon of reestblished native species of 9 kilometres will be created. The creek frontage has been revegetated in parts two years ago, new areas are being planted now (July/August 2011) or are soon to be. The long term plan for this area is for it to become a walking track with acess from Ellasville Road to Salt Creek, along the creek for several kilometres and return to Ellasville Road along the 3 metre wide acess path the farmer needs to create and maintain. This project has just been started by Nicholson River Landcare Group.
