The East Gippsland Rail Trail crosses the Nicholson River on a timber trestle bridge. The east approach to the brigge is a man made (in about1924) embankment. The Nicholson River Landcare Group is revegetating both the north and south sides of this embankment with local plant species. There are working bees regularly to plant, weed and otherwise maintain this area. Work started in 2010 and is continuing.
