A Sustainable Catchment and Community taking pride in our local area with total community participation in caring for the Land, Water & Vegetation and the Community within. The Flaggy Creek District Landcare group formed in 1996 and the group area covers 10,784 hectares. The Eastern boundary is approximately 12 km North West of Bairnsdale, defined by Boggy Creek. The Western boundary is defined by the Mitchell River where it enters the Mitchell River Valley.
The group has a membership base of 24 families. The Group's main focus is weed control and sustainable farming practises, and environmental restoration including revegetating cleared areas.
