Alinta has kindly sponsored the restoration of a riparian site in Nicholson. The creek will be fenced off and planted with approximately 2000 tube stock. The East Gippsland Landcare Network with Greening Australia are working in partnership with Alinta to restore this tributary of the Gippsland Lakes.
Swan Reach and Nicholson Primary Schools were invited to help plant along Butchers creek on Friday the 27th June 2008 for an Arbour week event. Approximately 60 students planted 625 plants on the day over 3 hours. Thanks to Green corps and Alinta who helped on the day and made it such a great event!
