Quiksilver proudly sponsor the revegetation day at the Anglesea dunes.
We all met at the Anglesea dunes for another enjoyable and constructive day of planting and mulching. There was a productive group of workers from Quiksilver, members of Torquay Landcare Group and Angair and people from Great Ocean Road Committee.
The weather was not looking good but we were very lucky and the rain and wind mostly held off until we had completed our work. This year Rhonda succeeded in getting the chain gang operating which really made a much more efficient way of moving mulch to the top of the dunes, and fun! After a while volunteers started to prefer being part of the chain gang to the planting, guarding and mulching.
Some lucky people managed to see whales from the top of the dunes, others just enjoyed a quick glance at the waves as we put in the plants and imagined how it would all look in a few years. We were impressed to see how the plants from the last 2 years have grown especially the Boobialla and Coast Daisy.
Again we enjoyed a great morning tea from the back of the truck and at the end of the morning a scrumptious lunch at the surf club with wonderful views of the beach and out to sea.
Sincere thanks to Quiksilver for their continued support.
