Once again Landcarers have proven they are made of the right stuff coming out in force on what was a very cold and wet day to plant and mulch our Barham Restoration project for National Tree Day last Sunday. We got 1600 plants in on the Barham Valley Rd side of the project and have now nearly completed this important restoration. And if Apollo Bay P12 students are an indication of our future then the Otways environment is in safe hands. 75 students planted out an important site on Skenes Ck for Schools Tree Day and our staff were overwhelmed with the energy, enthusiasm and high level of environmental knowledge that our kids have. The site was no means an easy one with very steep slopes, but this is no deterrent to Otways kids, to quote a Year 9 student “We Smashed it!!!” Thankyou so much Yrs 3, 4, 5 & 9.
