Lismore and Derrinallum primary schools recently enjoyed a day at Tower Hill. Seventy kids visited the 30,000 year old volcanic crater to learn about wildlife habitats and indigenous cultures from staff members from the Worn Gundidj group. The students tried boomerang throwing, took part in nature walk and talk, and painted message stones.

The day was funded by a Corangamite Shire Environmental grant and organised by Lismore Land Protection Group as part of its contribution to the schools environmental program. It has proved an excellent way to link the school curriculum and Landcare principles.
