The 2011-12 Environment Support Grant funded through the Corangamite Shire has made it possible for the Lismore Land Protection Group to collect native seed, and collaborate with Lismore Primary School to grow native plant species. Lismore Primary School participated in a workshop where they learned about collecting native seed, looking at different seed types and propagating the seed. The students set up HI-CO trays and planted Acacia, Allocasuarina and Callistemon species to grow in their hot house. These trees will then be planted on Mount Elephant on Schools National Tree Day on 27th July 2012.
