Sunday 22nd August gives you the opportunity to assist.
‘The Flora of “Lilydale House” Sanctuary Batesford constitutes a vegetation
type that was never common in the Geelong District, and only two examples
now remain; this sanctuary and the You Yangs.’
112 Native plants local and non-local have been recorded here. 35 Alien
plants have also been recorded. South African boneseed had appropriated large areas within the sanctuary.

10am – 12:30pm – go through the gate on top of the hill
opposite the Dog Rocks to hand pull small boneseed
12:30pm - a bonfire to burn dead wood cleared during the
fire season
12:30pm – 3pm – BBQ provided by Lit and George Belcher and the
Batesford Fyansford Stonehaven Landcare group
Tea and coffee provided – BYO drinks
